By the end of this course you'll be able to;

  • Play Fun Songs

    By the end of the MusicSkool course, you'll be playing fun and simple songs on the piano with both hands. As you progress through the lessons, you'll learn a variety of different songs and develop the skills and confidence you need to start enjoying the music you love.

  • Read Basic Sheet Music

    Over the first 8 weeks you will learn essential piano skills, such as reading basic sheet music, identifying notes, understanding time signatures, and basic rhythms. On screen visuals make reading notes fun!

  • Play scales and exercises

    Play classic piano scales and exercises designed to make your fingers and hands stronger and more flexible. These exercises are an essential component of any piano practice routine and are designed to help you develop proper technique and improve your playing abilities over time.

  • Learn Simple Chords

    You'll learn to play simple chords that are commonly used in a wide range of musical styles. With MusicSkool, you'll learn basic chords with your left hand and play melody lines with your right hand.

Reece Pennington

Reece has been involved in music making for most of his life. He made his start in local theatre productions when he was a young lad, and then went on to gain a BMus in performance voice from the University of Waikato. There, he performed in opera, musical theatre and  sang tenor in the New Zealand National Youth Choir. Reece is both singer and pianist and has taught piano, keyboard and singing in New Zealand state and private schools for the past 20 years. Together with Loretta, he founded corporate entertainment group Lyrica in which he has sung nationally and internationally for past 17 years. Reece is creative Director for Lyrica Productions but now also turns his hand to the creative side of MusicSkool which involves video & music production, graphic design, website design and constant problem solving.
